Kelvin Wanyoike: ICT trainer, mentor and free learning hub founder

Besides building software, Kelvin Wanyoike (Marzley) spends much of his time teaching: students who want to code, TVET trainees, young people joining online work through Jitume, and staff teams who need practical digital skills. This page explains how his training works and how to learn with him.

Teaching philosophy: build real things

Kelvin’s classes are project-based. Learners don’t just read about HTML or Excel: they build a real website, a working system, a business budget or a portfolio they can show employers and clients. Theory is taught at the moment it’s needed to finish the project.

What he teaches

  • Web development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL, hosting and deployment.
  • Programming: logic and problem-solving, Python, JavaScript and APIs.
  • App development: Flutter, web apps and PWAs.
  • Design: graphic design with Canva, UI/UX with Figma.
  • Digital skills: computer basics, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, online safety.
  • Online work: the ten online earning categories, freelancing platforms, profiles and getting paid safely.

Ways to learn

Why a free learning hub?

Many young Kenyans can’t afford expensive bootcamps or don’t have a laptop yet. The hub works on a phone, needs no account, and runs code in the browser, so anyone can start today. Learners who want more can join a course or a mentorship.
