Digital skills facilitator in Kenya: training for schools, youth and teams

Almost every job in Kenya now needs some digital skills: sending professional emails, working in Excel, staying safe from scams, using AI tools, or earning online. A digital skills facilitator helps groups learn these skills by doing, not by memorising notes. Kelvin Wanyoike (Marzley) is a digital skills facilitator, ICT trainer and Jitume facilitator, and runs sessions through Marzley Tech Solutions.

Who we train

  • Schools and TVET colleges: learners and trainers, including CBET documentation with CBET Planner.
  • Youth groups and community programmes: digital literacy and online work.
  • Businesses and staff teams: productivity, online safety and customer communication.
  • Individuals: one-on-one mentorship in coding, design and freelancing.

Topics we cover

  • Computer and digital literacy: files, email, Word and Google Docs.
  • Excel and spreadsheets: formulas, tables, charts and simple reports.
  • Online safety: passwords, two-step login, scams, M-Pesa fraud and fake job offers.
  • AI tools: using AI assistants responsibly for writing, research and work.
  • Earning online: freelancing profiles, finding genuine work and getting paid safely.
  • Web design and coding: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python, with practice on our free learning hub.
  • Digital marketing: Google Business Profile, social media and a simple website.

How our sessions work

  1. Needs check: we ask what your group already knows and what they need.
  2. Hands-on sessions: short explanations, then real tasks on computers or phones.
  3. Practice at home: free lessons, quizzes and a code editor on our learning hub.
  4. Follow-up: support and, for courses, certificates of completion.

Why learn from a working developer?

Kelvin builds live systems like BuildPro and Jobs Connect. Learners see how digital skills are used in real work, and get advice that matches what employers and clients actually need. See the digital skills every Kenyan should learn.
