Why your website needs a care plan (and what happens without one)

A website isn’t finished on launch day. Like a car, it needs regular care to keep running. Most business owners only find out something is wrong when a customer calls to say the site is down, or worse, when customers quietly stop calling.
What goes wrong without care
- The domain expires. Domains renew every year. Miss the date and your website and business email both stop working. Getting the name back can take days, and sometimes it’s gone for good.
- The site goes down and nobody notices. Hosting problems, full storage or an expired SSL certificate can take a site offline for days before anyone checks.
- Old software gets hacked. Out-of-date plugins and themes are the most common way small business sites are broken into. The first sign is often Google warning visitors that your site is unsafe.
- No backup when it matters. After a hack or a mistake, a recent backup means you’re back online in an hour. Without one, you may be paying to rebuild.
- Small changes pile up. New prices, a new branch, a staff photo. When updates are hard to get done, the site slowly goes out of date.
Not sure how your site is doing right now? Run a free website check. It tests your security certificate, speed, mobile setup and Google basics in seconds, and tells you how to fix anything that fails.
What a care plan covers
Our monthly care plans take all of this off your hands:
- Renewal tracking. We track your domain, hosting and SSL dates, remind you 30 and 7 days before, and send the renewal invoice in good time.
- Uptime monitoring. We check your site every hour. If it goes down, we know straight away and start fixing it.
- Backups and updates. Regular backups and security updates, tested so nothing breaks.
- Small changes. Text, photos and prices updated for you.
- A monthly report. One page showing your uptime, what we changed and any support requests, so you can see exactly what you’re paying for.
Does it pay for itself?
Think about what one lost week costs: the enquiries that never arrived, the customers who found a competitor instead, and the cost of emergency repairs. For most businesses, a care plan costs less than a single lost client.
Getting started
Care plans start from KSh 1,500 a month and work with websites we built or ones built by someone else. See the plans on our pricing page, or message us on WhatsApp and we’ll check your site first for free.
