BuildPro: a design-to-build platform for architects and engineers

The problem

A building project passes through many hands and many files: the site survey, architectural drawings, structural and civil engineering, the bill of quantities (BQ), material schedules, costing and the final documentation. Each stage often lives in a different program or spreadsheet, so a small design change means updating everything by hand. Quantities drift, costs go out of date and documents stop matching the drawings.

The goal

Give architects and building engineers one coordinated platform that follows a project from concept to completion, so the design, the engineering, the quantities and the paperwork always agree. In BuildPro’s words: “Precision in design. Excellence in engineering.”

What we built

• Site survey to design. Start a project from the site information and develop the architectural design from there.
• Drawings and a 3D model. Architectural drawings and a live 3D (BIM-style) model of the building, kept in one project.
• Structural and civil engineering. Structural design work sits alongside the architecture instead of in a separate file.
• Quantity takeoff and automatic BQ. Quantities come from the model, so the bill of quantities updates with the design.
• Materials and costing. Material schedules and cost estimates follow from the quantities.
• Project documentation. Reports and documents generated from the same data, with revisions tracked.
• AI design assistant. Describe a change, review what it proposes, then apply it.
• Accounts and projects. Professionals create an account, start projects and return to them any time.

How it’s built

• A web application that runs in the browser on computers and tablets, with nothing to install.
• One shared project model, so every stage (design, engineering, BQ, documents) reads from the same source.
• Revision tracking, so teams can see what changed between versions.
• A clean, professional interface with a dark theme suited to long design sessions.

The result

BuildPro is live at buildprov1.cbetplanner.co.ke. Architects and engineers can take a project from concept to a complete, documented design in one place, with quantities and costs that stay in step with the drawings.
